It's an exciting time for Croydon's creative sector!

Win Creative Croydon is a 2-year project funded by the European Social Fund and delivered by London South Bank University in partnership with Need2Succeed, Fashion Meets Music and Nexus.
The goal of the project is to help Croydon residents, who are not working or studying, move into a career in the creative industries. This could be front or back of house, technical or creative, in music, digital media, theatre, marketing or fashion.

What's it all about?

Training, work placement, career advice and guidance, signposting and support to help you find a job or start your education in the creative sector.

London South Bank University

Originally the Borough Polytechnic Institute, we laid down roots in south London in 1892 and has been improving the lives of students, businesses and the local community ever since. Today LSBU Group is widely recognised and valued as an important anchor institution in London, able to embrace the whole of the education and skills pathway from GCSEs to higher degrees. The Group includes LSBU, Lambeth College, South Bank University Academy of Engineering, South Bank University Engineering UTC and South Bank University Enterprises Ltd. In addition to the campuses in Southwark and Havering, the University recently established a presence in Croydon.

Need 2 Succeed

Need 2 Succeed (N2S) is a training provider with a long history of providing personal and professional development services. We are approved by four major UK awarding bodies, with a team of specialist trainers, teachers, and assessors, providing vocational and adult learning programmes.

N2S provides over 80 Ofqual regulated courses, both online and from our state of the art training facility, at London South Bank University's (LSBU) Croydon Campus.

We are proud to be working with partners on The WinCreative Programme and focused on creating opportunities for you to learn about the performing arts industry and event management.

Fashion Meets Music

Fashion Meets Music Collective C.I.C. is a multi-faceted growing creative company that supports emerging creative talent whilst also upskilling individuals for enterprise and education.

We will focus on the fashion industry and support individuals with training from industry professionals, networking opportunities and support into employment, education or enterprise.

Our training will concentrate on developing individual skills and progressing onto the next stage of your chosen pathway.

NEXUS

NEXUS is in the Business of Creativity, scaling entrepreneurs within the Creative and Digital Industries from start up to high growth, with a global network of members, business support and workspace facilities.

At NEXUS we are excited to use our extensive network within the music industry to deliver some amazing masterclasses and provide participants with a route into training and finding work within this exciting sector.

Our co-founders are born and bred in Croydon, having DJ’d extensively in the U.K. and abroad whilst also hosting live music gigs with the likes of Stormzy, Sinead Harnett and Skepta amongst others.

How does it work?

Meet the team
During an initial meeting, we will register you onto the Programme, discuss your goals and needs, confirm your stream and design a Bespoke Training Plan for you.

Bespoke training and support
You will then start your personalised support programme, which will include a combination of one-to-one support and group work, virtual online and face to face when viable:
  • Sector specific training and support from professionals working in the sector
  • Work Experience: Minimum 40 hours in a business within your chosen sector
  • Career advice and guidance on employability courses, skills, workshops, and useful tools for further development.
  • Signposting to mainstream delivery and support to access literacy, numeracy and ESOL alongside specialist support including wellbeing and mental health courses.

Your next steps
At the end of the Programme, we will review your journey with you, signpost and arrange additional training or support where necessary and explore opportunities for further education or employment.

Continued assistance
We will follow you in your next steps in work or study through regular meetings and catch-ups to guide you and support you in the initial stages.
